Show roundup That Fabulous Friday Feelin |
The final Fabulous Friday Feeling show was all about stories. Stories in business and stories we tell each other.
Jacqui Hogan of www.co-creative.co.uk told us a "Tall Tale" - a story that is entertaining, and has a twist. Her personal story was all about a series of disasters which overtook her on the way to visit a client. Jacqui explained that she is compering a competition of expert speakers - each with a Tall Tale - in Marlow for Toastmasters later this evening in the All Saints Church Hall at 7 pm. Sebastian Brown www.qualitydirectory.co.uk is in charge of a number of local BNI groups. He loves helping members to tell the stories of how they have helped others through their business. By telling stories, their businesses really come to life, and people understand better how they can get referrals for one another. As it was the last show Jean Wolfe took advantage of the situation and read out a story she wrote about a fairy tale business. We talked abut the importance of planning, but about not feeling constricted by the plan, and enjoying the emotion, rather than just the facts. Jacqui gets her Friday feeling from thinking about her business on a Friday.. working on it, not in it, and giving herself permission to be creative. Sebastian gets his Fabulous Friday feeling by always having time to play with his two older children when they come back from school on a Friday evening. We all agreed that the business should fit round what you love, and your natural tendencies. If you like to work on a lot of projects then set up your business to reflect that. It has been a wonderful four weeks. I have loved talking to the guests in the studio, who have all been so passionate and excited about what they do. We have touched on some big important issues, and hope that we have done something to make Fridays more fabulous, and keep that spark in business! Jean
